If you were around this time last year for Burn Jita, I'm sure you remember
wrecking an entire shitload of freighters, haulers, and generally pricy-looking ships floating around the heart of Empire. Next month, we come back with twice as much gasoline and a truckload of blowtorches. I'm here to tell you what you need to get done before that happens and what we can do to help you prepare.
1) Start training. If you were around before, you've probably already got the basic skills to fly a regular crappy old alpha Tornado, as well as a crappy old Thrasher.
See this page for Aryth's post on Tornado and Thrasher fits/skills. If you're close, get it done; the Thrasher takes literally hours to train. However, this year we're adding T2 Brutixes and Catalysts to the mix, ushered in by the
wild success enjoyed by the Ministry of Love's own freighter/miner/hauler ganking operation. We've run the numbers, it works. For the relevant Brutix/Catalyst fits, see below:

Remove rigs depending on AWU level.
We'd like people at least Catalyst-capable by the event. Plug the fit into EFT and make sure you're good to go by then. Being up in Brutix territory (or even T2 large blaster-capable) will be optimal.
If you consider yourself a capable bumper and can handle a bit of super-clicky stress, we'll also be happy to take you and hand you a cheap bumping ship. A Typhoon works rather well.2) Start stocking. You want to give yourself a fair few Cat(T2)/Thrasher(T1)/Brut(T2)/Tornado(T1) hulls and make sure you pull down plenty of guns, depending of course on what you can put yourself into by the event. Prioritize Cat>Brut>Thrasher>Tornado in the event that you can fly multiple/all. We asked for 20 minimum battlecruiser hulls per character last time and many more Thrashers (100+). Consider that a guideline for this time, with 30 minimum Catalysts if you plan to fly them. Look at the above fits for guidelines
(linking here again to Aryth's post from previous BJ).Basic prices (fitted):
- Catalyst: 15m
- Brutix: 65m
- Tornado: 90m
- Thrasher: 5m
These prices will fluctuate as people rush to the markets.
So don't. Get your nearest industrial jewbuddy to invent you whatever you can get invented.3) Start unfucking your security status.(See
The Sec Safari)
Since putting together the Ministry of Love (just after Burn Jita 2012 oddly enough), we've been able to make fixing your security status a relative breeze.
Note: Breeziness is enhanced dramatically by training Fast Talk. Ministers have it to 4 for a very good reason. Don't let it get in the way of training for gankships, though. We plan to take you all the way down to -10 with a fabulous Jipodding event at the end of the weekend, but we'll want you pristine and shining like a career red-cross-shooting pubbie in order to get you as many hilarious killmails as possible. For that reason, we are encouraging Miniluv members and FCs to operate their own coalition-wide security status fleets ("sec safari" hereafter) for helping kids get their sec unfucked. The details are as follows:
START: VPLL (Deklein)
Course: VPLL > GY5 > XCBK > 9CK > 4N > WUZ > 3T7 > N2IS > VPLL, repeat. Sorry, Testagram guys. Your hubs might double spawn a little more than normal.
Ships: Anything with alpha, moderate survivability (we use LSE'd Tornadoes), decent align/warp time (no battleships, nothing plated at all), 50k lock range, and preferably a target painter mod. When alpha is sufficient already, bringing a sensor booster (lockrange) fitted frigate with TP has been helpful.
Method: Fleet-warp to anomaly (that has been bookmarked and isn't one likely to be cleared out by a local jew), all lock the same battleship, all target paint the battleship (THIS IS IMPORTANT), then all fire. All warp/jump themselves to the next system immediately (once you've aggressed you can pretty much go ahead and warp, if it dies while you're in system you get the sec tick), wait for fleet warp, go fast use the boost to get through.

You will be responsible for getting your own ship for these sec safaris. We will try and keep a stock of frigates available for those without anything at all, but no promises. Keep an eye out for broadcasts and join them when you're available.
4) Get bookmarks and get clones/offices set up.Your own corp leadership should be able to handle this with corp bookmarks, but
make sure you have insta-undocks from Jita 4-4 and from Jita's bottom station (7-2 Caldari Business Tribunal Law School). Having off-grid and on-grid perches for the gates in Jita will also be mighty helpful.
For our ganking in Perimeter (which will happen), you'll want to set up a clone (and possibly even an office, if you can!) in said system. P2M1 Caldari Navy Assembly Plant has 11 offices open as of this writing costing in the 20 millions and a quasi-decent insta to the Jita gate (where a lot of dying and killing will happen as we lock publets out of the system due to hard cap), but no medical. You can find Medical next door at Maurasi 8 Moon 14. Note that the bottom station in Jita (7-2 Caldari Business Tribunal Law School) also has medical, with no offices available.
Bear in mind that you will get podded in Jita (you can now be podded with the Criminal flag, as opposed to the old system where GCC was irrelevant to pods).5) ReimbursementThe reimbursement team will be doing reimbursement in a similar manner to Burn Jita. Like Burn Jita, there will be a mixture of bounties and ship reimbursement. The ship reimbursement will be limited to a select number of ships and fittings, so don't expect to get paid if you deviate from the listed ships.
BountyAll pods killed within 5 jumps of Jita will be eligible for a 2.5 million isk bounty. This is primarily designed to offset the cost of a ganking thrasher/catalyst. You can earn an extra 12.5 million isk bonus for pods worth over 500 million.
ReimbursementThe reimbursement team has added a burn jita tab to the
reimbursement spreadsheet.
As you can see, there will be three ships reimbursed during the burn jita event.
[list=1]
- Brutix: 55mil
- Tornado: 70 mil
- Typhoon/Armageddon: 100 mil
This is roughly 85% of cost. The first time around, we reimbursed a bit over 100% to take into account we really had no idea what we were doing in hisec. Now we've got miniluv holding our hand, so we should be much more efficient. Note that typhoons or armageddons are the only two smartbombing battleships approved, and if you consistently suck at it I probably won't reimburse you. There will be a special thread for Burn Jita reimbursement. Post only in that thread. If you post in the other one, I won't reimburse you. I will ninja-edit that thread into this post when I've made it.
Posting Format:Lossmail: POST YOUR LOST SHIP HERE
Killmail: POST YOUR TARGET HERE (OR SAY
"FLUB" IF YOU FUCKED UP)
Payout Amount: 2.5, 55, 70, or 100mil.
Multiple requests per post ARE ALLOWED. Don't fuck up your math for the payout amount, nerds. Send all questions, gripes, complaints, or weeping about reimbursement to Atrum Veneficus.
That's it for now. Get your shit sorted and we'll update you later on with more details on Burn Jita 2.0.
